On 20th January 2011, Mr François Coart was elected President of the European Rail Freight Association (ERFA).
Since 09/2010, he is Strategy Director of Europorte (F&UK), the one of first privately owned rail freight operator in Europe. Europorte is the railway undertaking of the Groupe Eurotunnel.
Since 2008, he is also General Director of the Groupe Eurotunnel subsidiary London Carex (UK), dedicated to develop a high speed rail freight terminal in London.
During 2009 and 2010, he was also leading the acquisition of the 3rd largest rail freight operator in the UK, GB Rail Freight and of the French assets of Veolia Cargo for his group.
In 2006 he joined Groupe Eurotunnel as Rail Development Director.
From 1993-2003, he was working with Alstom Transport (F), amongst others as Vice-President Commercial & Marketing France.
From 1989-1993, he was working with Bombardier (B), amongst others as Marketing Manager.
Mr François Coart is a commercial engineer (Catholic University of Louvain, B).
He speaks French (native language), English, Dutch and some German.
